Perfumer is an enemy in Elden Ring.

Overview[]

Perfumers of Leyndell were once respected as blessed apothecaries[1], and they wore aprons embroidered with depictions of the Erdtree as symbols of their pride and responsibility.[2] However, during the Shattering they became active combatants, using their apothecarial skills to produce poisons and elixirs.[1] The art of perfuming, once jealously guarded within the capital, became widespread as the war raged on.[3]

Among the perfumers were those who travelled the Lands Between in search of new aromatics that could be used to treat those seen as impure, such as Misbegotten and Omen.[4] One such perfumer, Tricia, dedicated her efforts to treating the impure, going as far as to watch over them as they died to ensure that they passed peacefully.[5]

Rollo, the first Omenkiller, was once a famous perfumer who imbibed a physick to rid himself of emotion, allowing him to hunt Omen.[6]

Variant Description[]

White-robed perfumers of the Erdtree Capital, sporting aprons embroidered with depictions of the Erdtree. They wield a variety of aromatics in combat, and can produce a bubble shield to increase the defence of themselves and their allies. They reside on the Altus Plateau, with encampments in the Perfumer's Ruins and Perfumer's Grotto, as well as in Leyndell itself.

Attacks[]

Spark Aromatic: Comes in two variations, either long or wide. The long variant can be sidestepped while the wide variant can be jumped over, but can be used quickly twice in a row. The wide variant is their most common attack, while the long variant is uncommon.
Block: A passive blocking stance, used when all targets are beyond the range of their Spark Aromatic.
Uplifting Aromatic: Throws out a cloud around them that hangs around for a while, slightly increasing damage dealt by nearby enemies and grants a "shield" that decreases the damage they take from the next attack. The shield periodically reappears for any enemy that stays in the cloud.

Variant Description[]

Perfumers inclined towards heresy, who imbibe spices to alter their bodies and minds.[7] Unlike their white-robed counterparts, their aprons are embroidered with intertwining serpents, said to be a curse upon the Erdtree.[8] A notable depraved perfumer is Carmaan, whose strength once rivaled that of heroes, and who sought a physick of revivification.[9] A single depraved perfumer is amongst those who slaughtered the inhabitants of the Village of the Albinaurics.

Attacks[]

Spark Aromatic: Comes in two variations, either long or wide. The long variant can be sidestepped while the wide variant can be jumped over, but can be used quickly twice in a row. The wide variant is their most common attack, while the long variant is uncommon.
Stab: A lunge leading into a simple forward stab, used at close range. Parriable.
Attack Chain: A slash followed by a stab. Sometimes used at melee range. Parriable.
Block: A passive blocking stance, used when all targets are beyond the range of their Spark Aromatic.
Disengage: Jumps backwards while throwing out a Spark Aromatic, used to gain some distance if an enemy remains at melee range.
Healing Flask: Takes a quick chug to recover half their health. Has limited uses (about 2 per Depraved Perfumer) and cannot be blocked by Albinauric Pots or other such items. Only used when below half health and similar in animation to the Bloodboil Aromatic.
Bloodboil Aromatic: Chugs a flask to power up, gaining a weak, red effect around its body and increasing damage dealt while also increasing damage taken. Rarely used and similar to the Healing Flask.
Poison Spraymist: Throws out a cloud of Poison-causing mist, causing a moderate amount of build-up.
Dodge: Dashes to the side to try and get away.
