SpongeBob Squarepants is the title character and a supporting character in Drawn to Life: SpongeBob SquarePants Edition, based on Nickelodeon's TV series. In the game, SpongeBob is one of three helpers who can assist you in levels with the touch screen when X is pressed, with his helping move being a square-shield that can protect DoodlePants from a hit and break SpongeBob-marked boxes. He is also one of four characters playable in Multi-Card Play.
Appearance[edit]
Much like in the series, SpongeBob is a sea sponge with a yellow rectangular body shape filled with holes, better resembling a kitchen sponge. He typically wears attire comprising of rectangular brown pants, a white shirt, red tie, blue-red striped white socks and a black belt and shoes.
After DoodleBob is accidentally drawn back to life by Patrick and he steals a Magic Pencil, SpongeBob brings DoodlePants to life with the second pencil. A gang of Doodle Dudes arrive at the scene and kidnap SpongeBob while Patrick is distracted by a jellyfish, and DoodlePants rushes off to rescue him. After meeting Squidward and observing the damage made to Bikini Bottom, he and Patrick convince him to tag along with them on DoodlePants' quest to save Bikini Bottom by agreeing to fix his house and get his clarinet back.
The quartet approach DoodleBob upon reaching the Doodled Tower. After Squidward demands his clarinet back, SpongeBob suggests that DoodlePants talks to him, and they exchange a conversation in doodle language before DoodleBob runs off. After fighting Doodled off, DoodleBob runs off into The Jungle with a rocket and submarine. The group reach a drawn pyramid, where DoodleBob is approached and fought by DoodlePants. Before he is completely erased, DoodleBob runs off once more. The group suspect he escaped to either the Moon or Deep Sea. They find the submarine was left behind while the rocket was taken, so they go to the Deep Sea.
Upon their arrival at the Dutchman's Ship, the Flying Dutchman appears and accuses the group of controlling the Doodle Dudes who took over his ship. Doodle Patrick appears and convinces him this further, even while SpongeBob and Squidward try to prove him wrong. Patrick mistakenly reveals that he drew DoodleBob back to life, and the Dutchman puts them in charge of ridding the ship of the Doodle Dudes. Once he realized Doodle Patrick tricked him and took control of his ship, he tasks the group with ridding him. After Doodle Patrick's defeat, the Dutchman thanks them and SpongeBob bids him farewell.
The quartet heads back to Bikini Bottom, where they run into Sandy. She thanks them for rescuing her earlier, and SpongeBob asks if she'd let them borrow her rocket to go to the Moon. She declines, as they crashed it the last time they used it, and suggests that they use the Magic Pencil to draw their own rocket instead. After travelling to Space in their newly-drawn rocket, they come across Bikini Doodle, DoodleBob's drawn version of Bikini Bottom. After DoodlePants defeats DoodleBob a second time and Squidward gets his clarinet back, DoodleBob retreats to his rocket without the group realizing. SpongeBob tells DoodlePants to go after him, and the two fight once more on an asteroid nearby. Upon his defeat, Squidward tries to erase him for good, only for SpongeBob to realize DoodleBob just wanted friends. He erases his mean face, replacing it with a much happier one. After declaring they're all friends now, SpongeBob waves goodbye to DoodleBob and DoodlePants before returning to Bikini Bottom.

“Phew! That was close! It's good to be back in Bikini Bottom. All thanks to you DoodlePants!”

“Hey, Squidward! What are you doing taking a nap here?”

“You can count on us Squidward! Say, DoodlePants. Which one of us are you going to take along for the adventure?”
–SpongeBob Before the player chooses who will be their helper.
“Woo hoo, the Krusty Krab is back in business! I've never been this happy!”
–SpongeBob After the Krusty Krab is reopened.
“There are a lot less of those Doodle Dudes running around! Thanks DoodlePants!”
–SpongeBob Upon reaching Doodled Tower.
“Look over there! DoodleBob!”

“You're not getting through to him. We need DoodlePants to speak to doodle to doodle!”
–SpongeBob After Squidward demands DoodleBob give his clarinet back.
“Oh, no! DoodleBob escaped!”
–SpongeBob
“You did it! For a second there, I was a little worried...”
–SpongeBob Upon completing the Doodled Tower stage.
“Important...?”
–SpongeBob After Squidward asks if he forgot something important.
“Oh, my! You're right! I haven't fed Gary all day!”
–SpongeBob
“It looks like he escaped into the wilderness. We just have to follow his trail of Doodle tracks!”
–SpongeBob
“Oh, yeah. Good luck, DoodlePants!”
–SpongeBob After Squidward reminds SpongeBob about fixing his house.
“Hey, Squidward? What is that?”
–SpongeBob Upon reaching the Pyramid.
“Argh! He's over there! It's DoodleBob!”
–SpongeBob
“What is that? Some sort of rocket? And a submarine, too?”
–SpongeBob Observing what DoodleBob is drawing.
“It's times like these when a man finds out what he's truly made of! Well, go get 'em, DoodlePants!”
–SpongeBob Right before starting the boss fight.
“Where could DoodleBob have gone? He was just here. Now, him and the rocket and submarine are gone!”
–SpongeBob After DoodleBob escapes following the boss fight.
“No, wait. Let's think for a second. He must have gone to the moon or to the Deep Sea! But which? I'm not sure...”
–SpongeBob After Patrick suggests looking under the rocks.
“How do you know that, Squidward?”
–SpongeBob After Squidward suggests DoodleBob went to theDeep Sea.
“Waah?!”
–SpongeBob After the Flying Dutchman arrives.
“Oh-”
–SpongeBob After Squidward says coming to the ship was SpongeBob's idea in fear.
“Patrick! that's a copy of you! DoodleBob must have drawn him up!”
–SpongeBob After Doodle Patrick arrives and frames the gang for vandalizing the Flying Dutchman's ship.
“No, wait! You've got it all wrong! This is all the work of DoodleBob and his Doodle Dude army!”
–SpongeBob
“No use trying to talk now! Run, Squidward!”
–SpongeBob
“Boy, DoodlePants sure did a good job.”
–SpongeBob After clearing Below Deck.
“Aggh?!”
–SpongeBob After the Flying Dutchman comes back.
“Huh?”
–SpongeBob After the Flying Dutchman says he won't hurt the gang.
“Let me handle this!”
–SpongeBob After Doodle Patrick steals the Flying Dutchman's ship.
“You're welcome. Well, we'll be heading back to Bikini Bottom now.”
–SpongeBob Upon beating Doodle Patrick.
“Home, sweet, home!”
–SpongeBob Upon returning to Bikini Bottom.
“Patrick, could you cut out that Doodle Patrick impersonation?”

“But how are we going to get there?”
–SpongeBob After Squidward says they have to go to the Moon.
“Right! There she is!”
–SpongeBob Upon noticing Sandy coming over.
“Sandy, we need to go to the moon. Can we borrow your rocket?”
–SpongeBob
“But we can't save the town and if we don't go to the moon and stop DoodleBob!”
–SpongeBob After Sandy refuses to let the gang borrow her rocket.
“Now that you mention it...”
–SpongeBob After Sandy recommends using the Magic Pencil to draw a rocket.
“Wait a sec! This is a doodle version of Bikini Bottom drawn by DoodleBob!”
–SpongeBob Upon entering Bikini Doodle.
“We finally caught DoodleBob!”
–SpongeBob After clearing the Doodle Revenge boss stage.
“It's been a nice long battle. But, it looks like things around Bikini Bottom can finally get back to normal!”
–SpongeBob
“Gary is waiting! I've got to get to work!”

“Patrick, what's the matter?”

“Oh, no! Bikini Bottom! All the folks we rescued!”

“Wait, Squidward! I just realized something!”
–SpongeBob After Squidward suggests erasing DoodleBob following the Asteroid Battle boss stage.
“Wrong! Look around Squidward!”

The end screen after the main campaign is cleared and Notebook Land is unlocked.
- SpongeBob's in-game assets are mainly reused from past SpongeBob titles, mainly Altron's previous SpongeBob title Atlantis SquarePantis.
- An exception is his portraits, as some of which were reused from the DS version of Creature from the Krusty Krab.
- His scream sound effect has the opposite effect, as it would be recycled for Altron's next SpongeBob title, Truth or Square.
- SpongeBob is the only helper that could be rescued in a stage - in this case the Tutorial - as well as the only rescued resident from a stage that cannot be revisited upon completion.
