- The Jade Ham is a reference to BioWare's previous game Jade Empire, which had a makeshift ham weapon. The description of the Inquisition version is full of wordplay related to characters from the Jade Empire setting.
- The Jade Ham is referenced in the official cookbook in the recipe for Smoked Ham from the Anderfels. Devon describes one particular glaze for smoked ham; it is made from wildflowers, and is said to render ham as hard as jade. This makes the meat unfit for consumption, but suitable for use as a weapon.[1]
