Hold On To Hope with Waffle Flower stamps...

Hello and happy Wednesday everyone! Mayra here with you today. I created a sweet card to share with you today. I used the super beautiful Hopeful Girl stamp set. I fell in love with this stamp set the moment I saw it. 


I began by coloring the images from the set using Copic markers. 

For the green, I used YG01, FYG1, YG23, G28, YG67, and  YG17. For mint, I used BG34, BG11, G00, and G000. For the soft pink, I used R43, RV42, R30, and R00. For the soft peach color, I used YR000, E95, YR12, and YR14. For the hair, I used E41, E81, E43, E84, and E87. For the yellow areas, I used  Y11, Y08, Y19, and YR24.  For the skin, I used E50, E51, E21, and E23.


Next, I used the largest stitched rectangle from the A2 Lacy Layers die set to die-cut the panel. I then stamped the sentiment from the set onto the card using black ink.

Hello from Toni: Avery Elle Unicyle Birthday


Hi, everyone!  I think this card is super cute for being masculine(ish) but apparently it didn't make much of an impression on my partner when I gave it to him. I mentioned it was posting today and he couldn't recall what it looked like until I mentioned the snake on top. Of course--the snake.  Men!


I used the Mama Elephant Slim Card Basics and Window Dressing dies to create the layered scene.  I used the dies for diecuts but also for masks (clouds and hills).


I colored up the Avery Elle Unicycle images with Copics and coordinating Distress Oxide Wilted Violet, Twisted Citron, and Mowed Lawn for the background elements.


The really fun part was watching the scene come alive with the addition of the white pigment pen highlights, sequins and the Mama Elephant Let's Chat diecuts. Those Mama Elephant Big News and Comic Sayings sentiments fit on speech bubbles perfectly.

This is A Really Bug Deal...Happy Birthday with Lawn Fawn...

 

Hello and happy Wednesday everyone! Mayra here with you today, yay!!! I am continuing with the birthday-themed cards for this month. I created two versions of a 'Bug's Life' themed card to share with you today. I used the new Ladybug and Leaf die set.



I began by die-cutting the pieces needed to create the Shadow box card, the leaves, and the banner. 

I used the leaves overlay die from the  Ladybug and Leaf die set as a stencil. I added color all over the shadow box card layers using Lawn Fawn ink. I used Freshly Cut Grass, Jalapeno, and Noble Fir. 
Next, I colored the images I would use from the A Bug Deal, Hey Lady, the cake from Elphie Selfie, the ants from Crazy Antics, the bow from Eggstra Amazing Easter, and the balloons from Coaster Critters.


I used Copic markers to color the images. For the red areas, I used R02, R08, and R59. For the greens, I used YG0000, YG01, YG05, and YG17. For the yellows, YR24, Y19, Y08, and Y11. For purple, I used BV00, B60, BV01, and FV2. For the blue, I used B000, B01, B02, and FBG2.

Hello from Toni: Mixed Media Pinkfresh Studio

Hello, everyone, and happy spring! My garden is blooming and the sunshine just makes everything seem so much better, you know?  In celebration, I decided to work up a floral card for today.

I got deliciously messy but still quite simple. This is easily achieved in your own craft space with a few mods if you don't have everything I used.


First I used the MFT Wonky Dots Stencil and pounced some Distress Oxides on it which I then spritzed with water. I smooshed that onto my Bristol paper, dried it, then gave it a light coating of gesso.  In some cases I used Distress Oxide Sprays (Vintage Photo, Spun Sugar) rather than the whole pounce-and-spritz thing if I had it in the color I wanted to use.


I did this 3 times so the colors and patterns beneath are quite evident but subtle. Just a lovely backdrop for the gorgeous Pinkfresh Studio Choose Hope flowers.

I stamped and embossed that in gold then used Zigs to color the image up. Notice how you can see the background tones in pink, cream and gray (Speckled Egg) showing through.

For the gold spatters, I flicked Distress Oxide Vintage Photo (put some DO on an acrylic block and spritzed with water) onto the card front then embossed.  There's a bit of resulting gold/brown pattern play. Glorious!

Happy Birthday with Elphie Selfie...

Hello everyone!!
Happy, happy Wednesday. I am sharing this fun birthday-themed card using the new Elphie Selfie and Elphie Selfie Flip-Flop stamp sets. 
I adore these cute elephants and of course, I couldn't wait to use them on a card. 


I began by coloring all of the images I would use to create the birthday scene. The ice cream sundaes are from the Unicorn Picnic stamp set, the camera is from the Ocean Shell-fie set, the picnic blanket from the Crazy Antics set, the balloon, hats, and confetti are from the Really High Five and Yeti or Not sets. The leaves and branches are from the A Bug Deal set, the little bow from the Eggstra Amazing Easter set, the little birds from the Open Me set, the cupcake from the Baked with Love set, and the little mouse from the Bubbles of Joy set. 


I used Copic markers to color the images in. 

For the pink areas, I used RV04 and RV55, RV52, and RV17. For the yellow areas, I used Y11, Y08, and Y19. For the grays, I used W7, W5, W3, W1, and W00. For the cool-toned gray, I used C5, C3, and C1. For the mint area, I used BG34, BG11, and G00. For the mice, I used E31, E55, E35, and E37. 


Next, I added color to the base panel using Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink and Lawn Fawn inks, I used Minty Fresh,  Merman, and Fish Tank. For all of the green areas, I used Celery Stick and  Freshly Cut Grass. I also used a bit of  Plastic Flamingo on the birthday die cut. Then I used the Cloudy Stencil along with white ink to add the cloud border to the base panel. 

For the sentiment, I used the Happy from the Offset Sayings Birthday set and the Scripty Birthday die set.

Hello from Toni: Underwater Tri-fold Scene


Hi, my lovelies! Long post today because I don't always think things through.  LOL.  When I started this card, I had no idea it would morph into a giant scene. I swear!


It all started with the Avery Elle Underwater Background Builder set. I knew I wanted to use the cliffs as the opening on a tri-fold card.  As I was stamping, I noticed the two cliffs aligned almost perfectly so I decided to stamp them so they would wrap around to the back of the card.


Of course, it's only after all this stamping that I realized my Copics would bleed through the paper in spots (duh) so I stamped the central panel on its own piece of cardstock. That then gave me the opportunity to fancy up the back even further. 

I used a few different stamps sets here:  Avery Elle Underwater Friends, Underwater Background Builder, and Monkey Sea Monkey Do.


I colored the card base first, spending a lot of time layering and deepening colors to create ever more shadows. I LOVE how this turned out.


Next I colored up the front panel.  Notice all the white highlights?  That really made things pop. I've tried a variety of white pens but my favorite is the Posca. 


After all of this coloring, I realized I had left nowhere to handwrite a note so I did a quick fussy cut of the cliffs and adhered that to the back of the front panels.


I added a belly band I created using the Lawn Fawn Shutter Card dies along with a Lawn Fawn Porthole Frame (fantastic that LF is consistent with sizing so easy to mix and match).

I sponged it with Distress Oxides for a yellow submarine effect. I created the porthole using stems from the Lawn Fawn Acorn House--totally seaweed!

Ack, it occurs to me now that I could have added acetate as a window on the porthole.  OMG, that would be amazing.

Hoppy Birthday with Lawn Fawn...

Hello everyone!! Happy, happy Wednesday. Can you believe it is April already?! I am so excited since my birthday is this month, yay!!! I am sharing this fun card using the new Tiny Gift Box Frog Add-On. I really love the gift box add-on's from Lawn Fawn, they are great for the gift boxes and for cards. 


I began by die-cutting the layers for the little frogs, as well as the grass using the Slimline Grassy Hillside Border, what would be the pond using the Slimline Simple Stitched Hillside Border, and the cattails are from the Cattails Border die.  


Next, I added color to the base panel using Lawn Fawn inks, I used Merman, Peacock, Fish Tank, Blue Jay, and Deep Sea. For all of the green areas, I used Freshly Cut Grass, Jalapeno, and Noble Fir. I also used a bit of Walnut on the cattails. Then I used the Cloudy Stencil along with white ink to add the cloud border to the base panel. 


For the 'hoppy birthday' sentiment, I used the Oliver's Stitched ABC's set and the Scripty Birthday die set. The 'wish big' sentiment is from the Elphie Selfie stamp set.

Hello from Toni: Mama Elephant Signage


Hello, everyone!  I'm so excited about today's card! Not because it's cute, although it most certainly is, but because I stretched my supplies.  Woo hoo!  Looking at the card, do you know what I did? Take a second. Guesses?


I used the Mama Elephant Lift Flap Grid die without the flippy flappies! I did this by cutting it twice--once normally then removing the diecut and rotating it 180 degrees, carefully nestling it back in the cover plate, and cutting it again. It worked a treat! 

Now I have a cover plate that does double duty. The way I see it, I saved myself cash and now can buy more crafty stuff. Insert happy dance!


So, I sponged the new rounded square grid diecut with Distress Oxide Rustic Wilderness, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron. I used my airbrush with Copic YG01, YG07, and G28 on the card base using one of the Pretty Pink Posh Layered Leaves & Flowers Stencils.

I stamped and colored the Mama Elephant Little Signage Agenda critters with Zigs (listed below). They are too too cute! This is such a clever stamp set allowing you to choose the letters and critters.  I hope Mama Elephant comes out with more sets like this, don't you?


I used additional tiny sentiments from Mama Elephant Little Girl Agenda and Big News. I sprinkled a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins across the card, taking advantage of the popped up grid to create more visual interest. I popped the lion up too as you can see below. I really like the interplay of the different depths.
