"Twin Trouble" is the second segment of the thirteenth episode of the Disney Channel animated series, The Ghost and Molly McGee.
Synopsis[]
Dad struggles to stay true to himself when his twin siblings come to visit.
Plot[]
Pete gets terrible news that his older twin siblings, Billy and Jilly are coming to visit. The two of them have a terrible habit of humiliating him by calling him "Silly McGee" and unintentionally bullying him. Sharon tries to prepare him, but it is too late as the twins arrive to torment him. Darryl immediately takes to the two while Molly and Scratch see them as being very intrusive and inconsiderate (with Scratch's intolerance due to them being houseguests). When Pete tries to show his accomplishments, they mock him nonetheless. Suddenly, a small adorable ghost appears which Scratch frighteningly identifies as a Sobgoblin, small ghosts that feed on sadness and despair. The more of it there is, the more they multiply.
Darryl begins to pick up some of Billy and Jilly's habits and asks why they call Pete "Silly". The twins reveal that all of their names end with "-illy" and Pete's did not. When he passed on going to a game with them due to going to ice skating practice, they thought it was silly of him and thus the name stuck; making Pete sadder. Molly decides to use her box of sad things to attract the Sobgoblins up to her room. The ploy works as the Sobgoblins rise up into the attic. When Molly reveals her ruse, the Sobgoblins take on their more horrific form and do battle with her and Scratch. Molly manages to deplete some of them with her positivity, but she is overwhelmed by the cat poster literally failing to "hang in there" and cries, allowing the remaining Sobgoblin to escape.
Pete gets sadder and sadder as the family eat out. Soon, Sharon and Molly succumb to the Sobgoblins, much to Scratch's horror. However, when Pete sees Darryl emulating the twins' behavior on Molly, he finally snaps and chastises Billy and Jilly for being troublesome to him. Billy and Jilly sob, admitting that they think of Pete as being a big success as he has a high paying job and a family. The Sobgoblins are about to drain them, but Pete forgives them. The twins apologize for how they treated him over the years and the entire family hugs to finally rid the Sobgoblins, much to Scratch's pleasure. The moment is made awkward when the Mayor suddenly passes by and sees them.

Trivia[]

- Scratch offers to scare Billy and Jilly away by twisting his head around; claiming that he did not steal that from a movie. He clearly did, as it is from The Exorcist.
- The Sobgoblin is presented on a card similar to the Pokémon franchise. When Molly and Scratch battle them, the music sounds similar to the battle theme from the original Gameboy game.
- The music that Scratch accidentally plays when he tries to set the mood to attract the Sobgoblins is the Davenports' commercial jingle.
