"The Pet Rescue Team!" is the one hundred twentieth episode of Doc McStuffins. It premiered on October 26, 2018, and is the first episode in the fifth season.
Plot[]
Doc states that it was a great idea to take a break from the hospital to have a picnic with her toys. They then see Squibbles going fast to catch the stick. Stuffy tells the pets about Squibbles loving to fetch. Later, a crane drops a bowling ball which starts wreaking havoc all over McStuffinsville and tips over giant pins, causing the toys to run in panic. The First Responders then arrive to put everything back where they belong. Later, Mayor Billington presents the First Responders the medals of bravery for saving the town. Stuffy is impressed by them and wonders what it would be like to be a First Responder. Doc and Chilly like the idea. Stuffy states that he is brave and the First Responders don't have a dragon on their team but also states that he loves being a vet, as well.
Wildlife Will then arrives in the middle of his search for his missing pet Skitters. They were on a mission to spot the rare chicken that looks both ways before crossing the street before the bowling ball tipped over the pins which caused havoc. Doc and the toys then spot Skitters in the ball, and he is about to fall. Doc and the toys then prepare a blanket so that Skitters lands safely. Doc gives him a check-up, and gives him a clean bill of health. Wildlife Will thanks Doc for the help before leaving with Skitters.
Stuffy states that that's what it would be like for him to be a First Responder, which he states has a silly dragon dream. However, Doc mentions that the First Responders are too busy dealing with big disasters to help all toys. Doc suggests making a First Responders team for pets. Stuffy likes the idea, as do the others. Doc states that first, they need a Pet Rescue headquarters, so they head to an empty garage. Doc states that the vet clinic is next door, and the toys then build the Pet Rescue headquarters there while singing about what they will do as part of the team.
The last part installed is the pet emergency alert in case a pet needs rescuing. It is connected to the toysponders. Next up is the rescue vehicles and First Responder rescue gear. Hallie knows a truck who is Rosie the Rescuer's cousin. She goes to her while Stuffy goes to get the rescue gear. Later, he arrives with the gear, but Doc states that the stuff he got may not be needed to rescue pets. Hallie states that Rosie's cousin wants to join the team and the toys head to her.
She greets the toys and introduces herself as Logan the ice cream truck. She states that she loves animals, she is a fast learner, and her ice cream at her top releases balloons. Logan then shows off her other gadgets, and the toys like it, unlike Stuffy. Logan also shows her soft serve station, and the toys like it unlike Stuffy. Doc states that the First Responders have their way of rescuing, and the Pet Rescue Team will have their own. The Pet Rescue alert then chimes, and Doc and the toys are notified by Robot Ray that a pet cat named Goldie is in trouble in McStuffinsville Park. The Pet Rescue Team then take Logan to the park.
Once there, they meet a truck whose cat is stuck in a tree and is scared to come down. Just then, the truck trips on a rock, losing one of its wheels. While the toys head to the tree to observe the cat, Doc checks on the truck and its missing wheel. Stuffy refuses to wait and uses the grappling claw in an attempt to rescue the cat, but he and the other toys get stuck in the tree. Just then, Doc finishes the checkup on the truck, who describes what the cat likes. Doc gets the yarn and goes to rescue the cat when she, the truck, and Logan see the toys stuck. Stuffy explains everything, like rescuing is a lot harder than it looks and that Goldie is walking further out onto the branch. After Logan mentions it, Doc throws the yarn onto the ice cream cone. Goldie eventually comes down and is reunited with its truck. Doc frees the other toys and patches them up.
Stuffy states that the rescue wasn't as impressive as he hoped, as he wanted to be the most awesome rescuer ever. He sings about what he would do when he is that. Later, Robot Ray tells Doc and the toys that Fetchin' Findo got loose and is headed for the field outside of town. Logan takes them there quickly. Stuffy decides to save Findo, who is chasing the bunny into a hole and will get stuck, but crash lands. Hallie and Lambie rescue the toys. Later, Doc and the toys are about to save hamsters when Stuffy uses a crane to break everything.
Then, Doc and the toys see baby birds who don't know how to fly stuck in a tree and their nest on the ground. Lambie has an idea when Stuffy decides to go along with his plan. Again, he crash lands, and Lambie rescues the birds. Stuffy states that the team's first days of rescue were rough, but promises that things will change. Later, Doc and the toys spot a fish named Flippy stuck in a castle. Chilly has an idea for a fish scooping net when Stuffy goes in the water to save the fish, only to get stuck in the pool filter. Doc and the toys try to pull Stuffy out to no avail. Backup then arrives to save Stuffy, who appreciates the help. It is then revealed that Flippy was saved, as he was in Stuffy's helmet.
Doc then checks on Stuffy, who is good to go. Stuffy, feeling dejected, refuses to say anything, and Doc wonders what's going on. Stuffy states that he wants to be like the First Responders instead of being saved by them, and decides to quit, despite persuasion from Doc and the toys. Stuffy rejects a game of fetch with Squibbles when the First Responders arrive. Wildlife Will tells him that the dam could break, leading to McStuffinsville being washed away. The First Responders put the dam back to normal. Stuffy states that he is no hero when he accidentally kicks a stick, leading to Squibbles hopping on a log flowing down a river. Squibbles then gets stuck on a branch at the edge of a waterfall. Stuffy regrets what he did when Doc and the toys arrive riding Logan. Stuffy is delighted to see them. The team then holds on to each other to form a chain, and Stuffy decides to go with their plan. It works and Squibbles is saved. Stuffy states that he was wrong about a lot of things. He wanted his team to be like the First Responders to badly, that he didn't see what amazing pet rescuers they already are. Stuffy then decides to join the team, with Hallie stating that he is the cherry on top. Doc and the toys then have a group cuddle.
Later, Doc and the toys are provided official Pet Rescue Team uniforms. Whenever a pet is in trouble, they will be there on the double. Logan is also chill to be a part of the team, and decides to change her jingle to a siren when Stuffy states that the jingle is perfect the way it is. Doc and the toys then go to rescue more pets.
