Tessa Lynne Thompson is an American actress, voice actress, singer, and musician. For Disney, she played Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Endgame, Thor: Love and Thunder, and The Marvels. She also voiced Lady in the 2019 live-action adaptation of Lady and the Tramp.
Thompson was born in Los Angeles, California, and raised between Los Angeles and Brooklyn, New York. She developed an interest in acting while in high school and while attending Santa Monica College, she attended lectures by Lisa Wolpe of the Los Angeles Women's Shakespeare Company. In 2002, Thompson made her professional stage debut as one of three actors portraying the role of Ariel in LAWSC's production of The Tempest.
Debuting in the 2006 remake of When a Stranger Calls, Thompson has since appeared in Mississippi Damned, Murder on the 13th Floor, Selma, Annihilation, Men in Black: International, Sylvie's Love, Passing and appeared as Bianca Taylor in the Creed trilogy, which was spun off from the Rocky film series. Her television credits include Cold Case, Veronica Mars, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Heroes, Blue Belle, Rizzoli & Isles, 666 Park Avenue, BoJack Horseman, and Westworld.
