Roddy McDowall (born September 17, 1928 in Herne Hill, London, England - October 3, 1998 in Los Angeles, California) was a British-American actor. He was well known for playing the chimpanzee Cornelius and Ceasar in the original Planet of the Apes film saga. He is Galen in Planet of the Apes TV show. He was the voice of the Mad Hatter in the DCAU.

Background information[]
McDowall previously portrayed the March Hare in a 1985 television adaptation of Alice In Wonderland. He also played the Bookworm in the 1960s version of Batman starring Adam West as the title character, making him the only actor to play a villain in both that series and the DCAU.
