Batgirl - as Barbara - tries to convince her father of Catwoman's innocence, but he is unyielding. Harley and Ivy - trying to help the captured Catwoman - are themselves arrested. Batgirl is alarmed by the ferociousness of the Police and disturbed by her father's apparent sanctioning of this new brutality.

Plot[]

Ivy initiates a standoff

Poison Ivy initiates a standoff with Batgirl and Catwoman.

At the monastery, Harley begins to understand the power of Mister Freeze's device, and starts fiddling with the gun, making the men disappear and reappear again. Taking the device, Ivy uses it to hold off Batgirl and Catwoman so she and Harley can make their leave. Batgirl tells Ivy that she can leave if she hands over the device.

Renee arrives to the Monestary

Renee Montoya arrives to the monastery to stop Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman.

Just then, Renee Montoya arrives with a squad of police. One of the officers launches a net at Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, but Catwoman leaps in its path. As Harley and Ivy make their escape, Pamela tells Selina she owes her one. In response, Selina tells Ivy that she owes her cat.

Renee on phone

Batgirl is elated as she overhears Renee Montoya confirm James Gordon's return.

As Batgirl catches Mister Freeze's device, Montoya's phone rings. Elated to hear that James Gordon has returned, the detective tells the person on the other end of the line that she has the culprit behind the case of the missing men, Catwoman. Quickly, Batgirl grabs the phone hoping to clear Catwoman's name, but back at Gotham Police Department, Dora Smithy tells her that James Gordon has very clear orders that Catwoman is charged with 3,000,000 counts of kidnapping for the crime.

Barbara gets chewed out

Barbara Gordon gets chewed out over the phone.

Later, at Barbara's apartment, she watches a news report on the situation. Talking to her father on the phone, she tries to get him to see things from her point of view. As the report continues, the news anchor reveals that the gun sent them all to a temporal dimension where time stood still. Unfortunately, Barbara has no luck with the commissioner. Reported to be Catwoman's accomplices, the anchor states Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are still at large.

Harley realizes they goofed

Harley realizes that she and Ivy just broke into a car full of riot cops.

Elsewhere in Gotham City, a police vehicle comes to a skidding halt as it encounters a massive vine. Instantaneously, Harley Quinn leaps into action, attacking the vehicle with a mallet. Stopping her accomplices forceful assault with a single finger, Ivy places an exploding seed within the keyhole of the vehicles back door. Believing she just broke out Catwoman, Ivy gives a brief self-congratulatory spiel before realizing she and Harley are face to face with a platoon of riot police.

Harley and Ivy blocked by flames

Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn have their escape route blocked by police flamethrowers.

Leaping on top of the vine, the two try desperately to flee, but are cut off by a police helicopter that blocks their path with a flamethrower. Poison Ivy attempts to surrender, but the police don't care and continue to shoot at her and Harley. Losing their balance on the edge of the vine, the women begin to fall, but are caught by a swinging Batgirl. The three tumble into a circle of police, where Harley and Ivy are arrested. Appalled at the officers' show of force, Batgirl confronts them, but is met with the retort that they're "just doing their jobs". The officer warns her to back off, lest she be charged with aiding and abetting.

Batgirl's dilemma

Batgirl stands, shocked, after she just seemingly witnessed her father sign off on police brutality.

As Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn enter the police transport vehicle, they're met by Catwoman. Selina asks what they're doing there, and Harley explains it was a rescue attempt. Ivy begs Batgirl to do something as they aren't safe with these trigger-happy mercenaries, and Batgirl promises Ivy that she'll tell Commissioner Gordon. One of the riot officers responds that he's already well aware, and salutes to the commissioner, sitting in the back seat of a nearby squad car. Gordon salutes back, and rolls up his window. The riot cops close the back of the transport vehicle, and Batgirl is left behind in a state of shock, despair, and confusion.
