Bur-El is an ancient ancestor of Kal-El and in his time was an impromptu archivist of Kryptonian inventor/ tinkerer Kil-Gor.
History
When Silten harvesters had a problem with timing the tides, Kil-Gor invented the hourglass and telescope to better predict them.
Using his inventions, Kil-Gor announces the time of the low tide. None believe him but Bur-El. Bur demonstrates that Kil's theories are correct, and further records them for future members of the House of El descendants Val-El and Sul-El.
Bur-El soon cemented his ties with the House of Gor, and married Kil-Gor's daughter Wedna.
Notes
- This version of Bur-El, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
