Old Mundane Stones are upgrade materials in Dark Souls II.
In-Game Description
- An altered state of titanite.
Use to imbue weapons with the power of the mundane. Cannot be used on shields.
- People do not look favorably on the banal, but sometimes even the most mundane of objects can cast things in a most pleasant light.
Availability[]
Dropped by Gyrm Warriors, Undead Steelworkers and Crystal Lizards.
After the Undead Crypt has been cleared, Stone Trader Chloanne will sell 3 of these stones for 10,000 souls each.
If given a Small Smooth & Silky Stone or Smooth & Silky Stone, Dyna & Tillo have a chance to give you a stone in return.
General information[]
Used at Steady Hand McDuff. Reduces current damage stats of weapons to half and adds high scaling based on lowest player stat. It will add +6 points per stat level until 20. It then improves by three until the lowest stat is at 30, where it will then increase by ~1 point per level.
If two or more stats are tied for lowest stat, only one of those stats will contribute to the scaling.
In short, if a player has very good and balanced levels across all skills, then it is preferable to use this infusion over Raw, as Raw simply increases the base stat by a small amount, while Mundane may increase the values of a weapon exponentially. Still, if a player is yet to have extremely good and balanced stats, then Raw is better.
Notes[]
- Mundane works best on weapons that have little to no scaling, such as Santier's Spear. If Mundane is applied to a weapon with B, A or S scaling, the damage will drop drastically.
- While Mundane-infused weapons have their base damages reduced by 50%, the Blue Dagger and the Retainer's Short Sword have theirs reduced to around 1/7 of their originals. The reason is currently unknown.
