Robert Harris was a budding spree killer who appeared in the Criminal Minds: Evolution episode "Sicarius".

Background[]

Robert Harris was involved in the cuckold fetish as a "bull," or a man who has sex with a woman in lieu of her husband, with Michelle Tucker and her husband Ryan being one of the pairs he cuckolded. After being injured in a motorcycle accident, Harris had to take prescriptions that caused his erectile dysfunction. Michelle and Ryan moved onto other bulls, which angered Robert and made him seek revenge against other bulls.

On Evolution[]

Season 1[]

The BAU was watching his killings after his first murder of Alex Arnold, fearing he'd repeat. He does with Steve Duncan, in his first appearance, having paralyzed him and taken him to his house. He talks down Steve's panics, then starts a video, saying he has a choice Harris will force him to make. After killing him and abandoning his body, Harris sends the video to Voit, swearing he followed his rules. The video was also sent to Councilman Jack Sullivan and his wife Julia, the last couple to see Steve alive. They confess and give the video in interrogation, and when a case filled with his murder weapons are seen in the video, they realize he's tied to the network of Elias Voit.

Harris calls Voit and tells him he wants to kill someone else, someone he already picked out. Voit warns him to wait, as he wants to prevent more evidence of his crimes being found. Harris doesn't care, so he blitzes and abducts Michelle. Ryan gives the BAU Robert's name, while Harris' preparing to torture her too. However, when Garcia activates the transmitters on all of Voit's kill kits, including the one given to Harris. Voit calls Harris, tells him he broke Voit's rules. He orders Harris to cut his own throat with his scalpel, saying Voit will kill him if Harris doesn't do it. The agents rescue Michelle, and Harris is found dead.

Modus Operandi[]

Harris targeted other bulls, drugging them with a paralytic before taking them to his house. They were laid on an operating table, their upper backs skinned to reveal their spines. While they were conscious, Harris would tell the victims they could live with quadriplegia or he could kill them, the victims always choosing the later under duress. Harris would cut their spinal cords to kill them, and when he grew more brazen, he filmed the murders with the point of view toward the men's faces. The videos would be sent to the last couple the men saw before they died, as well as to Voit to get his approval.

Profile[]

The unsub wants power and control, coveting what he wants but can't have. It was presumed he was a more submissive male, until the profile was revealed to have more accurately fit another bull. The unsub's posts in the forum indicate severe misogynistic complexes and dangerously projected rage.

Real-Life Comparison[]

Harris appears to be inspired by Andrew Cunanan - Both were narcissistic killers profiled as wanting power and control, were triggered by steady partners turning to other lovers, targeted men (though Harris attempted to kill a woman), tortured and mutilated at least one of their victims, and their last victim was someone they specifically stalked and targeted (though Harris failed to kill her, while Cunanan successfully killed Gianni Versace).
