Shadow the Hedgehog is a recurring antagonist in the Sonic Boom sub-franchise. He is Sonic the Hedgehog's sworn rival, often clashing with him or anyone who personally wrongs him, but in disproportionate levels. Believing that Sonic's friends are his weakness, Shadow often tries to prove his point by going after them to prove himself superior to the blue hedgehog.
He was voiced by Kirk Thornton.
His "Good" Ranking[]
His "Heroic" Deeds[]
- Despite being at odds with Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends most of the time, he still shows respect to them whenever they beat a formidable foe.
- He refused to work with Lyric, though mostly out of indifference rather than standards.
- He helped defeat Metal Sonic
- He destroyed Lyric's weapon, preventing him from killing Team Sonic, and knocked him away through the airlock Sonic opened in revenge for mind-controlling him.
- He attempted to kill Eggman in revenge for manipulating him.
Why Isn't He Actually Heroic?[]
- All of his "heroic" deeds are pure pragmatism, done in revenge for some personal offense rather than upholding justice, and he doesn't show any interest in protecting innocent lives.
- Him showing respect to heroes isn't inherently heroic, as villains can genuinely respect other people without being On & Off.
- Most of his appearance have him act as an outright villain, either fighting Sonic to prove his superiority or attempting to cause mass destruction (including omnicide) out of spite.
Trivia[]
- Shadow originally had a page on Heroes Wiki, until it was pointed out that he was never truly heroic. He is currently approved on Near Pure Evil Wiki.
