Synopsis[]

King Maddoc ponders recent events, and when he receives word that Conan is returning to El Shah Madoc, he beats the unfortunate messenger, much to Tetra's amusement. Conan arrives in the city and greets Keiv, who is surprised to see a captured and subjugated Imhotep with Conan. Conan reunites with Anneka and Jahli and assembles his newly formed band and they begin discussing making a move on Maddoc. Conan simply wants revenge for Maddoc setting him up to die, while Shappur wants to install his grandson Jahli on the throne. Meanwhile, Maddoc slips into insanity as he addresses the corpse of his servant Swan. The next morning, the small army rides to the castle and into the courtyard as Keiv rips the portcullis apart with his bare hands. Maddoc sits on his throne, confident in his guards, when Conan bursts into the chamber. The fight between the two of them heads into the dungeons, and up into the towers, with Conan finally getting the better of an incredulous Maddoc, who was convinced of his own divinity. Conan throws Maddoc out of the top of the tower as Keiv and Imhotep catch up to him. Suddenly, Tetra appears and triumphantly destroys the entire castle in an enormous explosion.
