Hi there! I noticed you removed my No Sourcing tag from File:Flag of the Organized Village of Kake.svg. I see you added a link to the Kake Tribal Corporation website, changed the date to 1951, and changed the license to PD-US-1978-89.

The purpose of the sourcing is to substantiate the copyright claim. I have been unable to find evidence on the Kake Tribal Corporation website that their flag was published in 1951 without a copyright notice. Can you point me to your source that the flag was actually published in 1951 without a copyright notice? Thanks, Intervex (talk) 20:36, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I will email the Kake to see if they use that flag and if is it free to use. SpinnerLaserzthe2nd (talk) 22:34, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. If they say it's free to use, you'll need to follow the steps at Commons:Volunteer Response Team to properly document the permission. Intervex (talk) 22:39, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I had emailed them with that link SpinnerLaserzthe2nd (talk) 23:28, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This file may be deleted.
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Flag of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.svg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you!

Hi there! This flag you made an SVG of is missing source information to confirm that its original design is freely licensed. The creators of the flag appear to be John Kemp, Buford Rolin, Katherine Sells, and Creek Chairman Eddie L. Tullis [1] but I cannot find what year it was created. It appears to be above Threshold of Originality in the USA, so should be presumed copyrighted. Right now you are listed as the author of the flag, which is a field intended for information about who the copyright holder is (i.e. the original designers). Converting a flag to SVG format does not confer authorship status, and you cannot legally release it as Creative Commons. Only the original designers of the flag can do that. If you have any information on when this flag was designed, and whether the original designers released it with a free license, please update the file description! Thank you, Intervex (talk) 02:39, 29 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am not the author of the file, Abyssmanx made this file. I replaced that file because the file is blurry. You should redirect that message to Abyssmanx. SpinnerLaserzthe2nd (talk) 02:48, 29 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies! I was using the VisualFileChange.js system and was under the impression it would be notifying the uploader, not the most recent editor. It had worked that way for me in the past and I didn't think to double check it. I will redirect the message, sorry for bothering you about it! Intervex (talk) 03:23, 29 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The French flag in 1959 should have been navy blue, not bright blue. I would like your help in changing the color of the flag. Just like you updated File:MarqueDeGaulle1959.svg a few days ago. Exception I would like to ask you to help me make a variation of the Royal Coat of Arms of Scotland from 1837, but using St. Edward's Crown. Edit it using File:Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom in Scotland (1816-1837).svg and put After removing the Hanover coat of arms from the file, the modified file was uploaded under the name [Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom in Scotland (1837).svg] 2401:E180:8873:2885:4282:7A25:7E38:CF4E 06:45, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Merry Christmas, User:SpinnerLaserzthe2nd. I hope you have a great time in 2025, because arguments with me over File:Flag of Mifune, Kumamoto.svg have been settled. Anyway, see you next time. OperationSakura6144 (talk) 05:40, 23 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
