Supports display of two author names

Usage

{{AutVec |1= |2= }}

The template is designed to display two authors instead of one. To use it both authors need to be specified:

  • the 1st one with either 1= or o=
  • the 2nd one with either 2= or v=

In any conflict, named parameters take precedence over positional parameters.

Template parameters

ParameterDescriptionDefaultStatus
1name of author of "Original", when no parameter o= is specified.

This text string will be used as an argument for template {{U}},
except when it starts with either "<" or "[" or "{", then it will be used as-it-is. (see textual input)
If this parameter is missing (or U/u/-) the author is presumed "unknown".
The value trad for that parameter denotes traditional origins.
Templates {{Creator}} or {{Q}} may also be used, and any one of the user templates.

Note: If parameter o= is specified, parameter 1 is assumed for author of "Vector".
Unknownoptional
2name of author of "Vector". Used as argument for template {{U}};
except when it starts with either "<" or "[" or "{", then it will be used as-it-is. (see textual input)
Vectorizeroptional
3=the name of the original (raster) picture in Wikimedia Commons, e.g. "CoA of XYZ.jpg".

Might as well be e.g. [[:en:File:Xyz.png|'''Original''']]
When the file name of the raster-original is the same it will be enough just to specify the file type by

  • .png (or short: .p or shorter: .)
  • .gif (or short: .g)
  • .jpg (or short: .j)
  • .tif (or short: .t)
  • .webp (or short: .w)
  • .xcf (or short: .x)
  • .pdf or any other extensions, case sensitive
If a file name starts with a dot, the form [[:File:.Xyz.jpeg|Orig]] can be used, to avoid conflicts
emptyoptional
4=Any additional text; follows immediately the vectorizeremptyoptional
o=name of author of "Original". Can be any text, e.g. o={{Ut|example}}

(the "o=" in this example is not necessary because the generated link is starting with "[".)

The "o=" is also not necessary when {{Creator}} is used because the generated table starts with "<".
emptyoptional
v=name of author of "Vector". Can be any text, e.g. v={{Uc|example}}
(the "v=" in this example is not necessary because the generated link starts with "[".)
emptyoptional
m=
 m1=
 m2=
modification for {{U}}: (m1 for o_user, m2 for v_user, m for both) can be
  • m=d to generate {{Ud}}, link to the German user page
  • m=t to generate {{Ut}}, link to User talk
  • m=w to generate {{Uw}}, link to ~commonswiki user
  • m=wtto generate {{Uwt}}, link to ~commonswiki talk
emptyoptional

Localization

To add your language to the list of languages supported by this template, please edit the template and add a row to the "{{LangSwitch|}}" construct. It takes the form "|xx= Your translation " (xx being the code of your language) .0It uses {{I18n/original}}, {{I18n/vector}} and {{I18n/traditional}}.

Text instead of a user

It is not necessary to use either the parameter o= or v= for input which is not a user name; the positional parameter 1 and/or 2 can be used:
Instead of one user, a Userlist can be specified: {{AutVec | {{Userlist|...}} | {{Userlist|...}} | }};
each user in such a list can be modified, e.g. {{ UlUser_deUser_frUser_ruw1 = dew2 = frw3 = ru }}  or  {{ UserlistUserTUser~m1 = tm2 = w }}
With a special prefix the value of parameter 1 and/or parameter 2 can be flagged that it is textual instead of a user name. This prefix is removed before the text is displayed.
Such a prefix consists of 2 characters, either (), <>, [] or {} can be used, or ((, &&, << (easy on German keyboards), .. (easy on most keyboards).

As with input from o= or v=, the text can be any wikitext – just plain text, or combinatons of text and links.
