Description |
English: William Boon Emsley was born in 1895 in Prestwick, Ayrshire, Scotland. He joined the Cameron Highlanders in1914. He went to France on 24th March 1915. Later he became a Lance Corporal in the Labour Corps of the 9th Battalion Cameron Highlanders. He received the 1915 star and two campaign medals.
His brother Robert Harley Emsley was born in 1899 also in Prestwick and enlisted in 1917. He was a private in the Royal Highlanders, Black Watch. There is a photo of the two brothers in uniform and photos of their mother and sister which were sent to them. Both of them survived the war |
