Description
English: Act of commemoration in Upper Heyford cemetery, Oxfordshire, England. Brig. Gen. John Quintas, Defense Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in London talks about Capt. Jerry Lindh, 55th Fighter Squadron F-111E pilot, and Maj. David “Mike” McGuire, 55th FS F-111E navigator. The village of Upper Heyford, held the ceremony for Lindh and McGuire who died Sept. 17, 1992, when they decided to fly their crippled F-111E away from the villages of Upper Heyford and North Aston instead of ejecting. “Mike and Jerry were my friends and comrade-in-arms and their spirit lives on in the Airmen of today,” said Quintas.
