English: (1 of a 15-picture set) At this point, you are about mid-way across the state of Utah. There are turn-outs on both sides of the interstate here, and it is well worth the stop. First of all, one sees and amazing feat of road building. Secondly, you get a close up look at the forces that formed the United States. Pressure from below pushed up the ground that formed the mountains. Here, the slanted rocks are clearly visible. The grade here is steep as the road winds down to Green River, UT. |
