[edit]President Congratulates Winners Of Safety Contest. Representatives of four winning companies in the National Safety Competition in Mining and Quarrying, conducted by the United States Bureau of Mines, were awarded the “Sentinels of Safety” and congratulated by President Hoover at the White House yesterday. One of the large trophies is shown in the picture. Left to right: W. P. Chinn, general manager, Pickands-Mather Co., Duluth, Minnesota; A. B. Jessup, vice-president, Coxe Bros. & Co., Jeddo, Pennsylvania; President Hoover; J.H.
