Français : Récit de Jean-Pierre MASCLAPHIER pour son grand-père et son grand-oncle maternels.
Charles COLLARD est né à Moux (Nièvre) le 21 juin 1874, tailleur d’habit, et mort en 1947. Il a fait son service militaire au 1er régiment de spahis entre 1895 et 1898. Il a été mobilisé en août 1914 et a fait toute la guerre. Pendant la Seconde guerre mondiale, sa maison a été occupée par les Allemands. Alors qu'il triait le grenier familial vers l'année 2000, Jean-Pierre Masclaphier a retrouvé les lettres de son grand-père, qui ont donc failli disparaître. Il les a toutes datées et classées. Charles avait un jeune frère, Edmond, (classe 1896 matricule 12065) qui a disparu au front le 8 août 1916 et dont le corps n'a été retrouvé qu'en 1929. Une boîte contenant sa montre, son matricule et sa photo a été expédiée au maire de Montsauche (Nièvre) par l’administration des pensions militaires. M. Masclaphier possède une aquarelle d'H. Barjou représentant Douaumont, mais à sa connaissance elle n'a pas de lien avec sa famille. |
