Description
English: Karl Heider (1856–1935) was an Austrian zoologist. He first studied medicine and then zoology in Vienna. He was appointed professor at the University of Innsbruck after his habilitation and was rector there in 1904/1905. He later also worked at the University of Berlin. The portrait photo is part of a photo album for the early retirement of chemistry professor Karl Senhofer (1841–1904). His colleagues at the Faculty of Philosophy in Innsbruck dedicated the faculty album to him.


Deutsch: Karl Heider (1856–1935) war ein österreichischer Zoologe. Er studierte zunächst Medizin und dann Zoologie in Wien. An der Universität Innsbruck wurde er nach seiner Habilitation zum Professor ernannt und war dort 1904/1905 Rektor. Später war er auch an der Universität Berlin tätig.

Das Porträtfoto stammt aus einem Fotoalbum zur vorzeitigen Emeritierung von Chemieprofessor Karl Senhofer (1841–1904). Die Kollegen der damaligen Philosophischen Fakultät in Innsbruck widmeten ihm das Fakultätsalbum.
