The eggs of hookworms can be identified in stool microscopy as part of the diagnostic process for intestinal parasitic infections caused by these parasitic worms. Hookworms are nematodes (roundworms) that can infect the small intestine of humans.

Description
English: Hookworm eggs have characteristic features that help in their identification:

Size: Hookworm eggs are relatively small, measuring about 50-60 micrometers in length and 35-40 micrometers in width. Shape: They are oval and usually have a thin, transparent shell. Color: The eggs may appear colorless or have a slightly brownish tint.

Content: Inside the egg, a developing hookworm larva can often be observed coiled or folded.
