Object history
Deutsch: Der Hahn als Attribut des heiligen Veit erinnert an den Patron des Klosters Prüll in Regensburg. Dieses Kloster war der wichtigste Grundherr in den zur Gemeinde Thalmassing gehörenden Orten Neueglofsheim, Ober- und Untersanding, Mooshof, Weillohe, Ober- und Untermassing (mit Streubesitz in Wolkering). Der Sparren ist dem Wappen der Grafen von Lerchenfeld entnommen, die seit Mitte des 16. Jahrhunderts die Hofmarken Thalmassing, Gebelkofen, Wolkering und Luckenpaint in ihre ausgedehnte Grund- und Niedergerichtsherrschaft einbezogen. Auch die Pfeffenhauser, die über fast zwei Jahrhunderte die Veste Luckenpaint in Besitz hatten, führten einen silbernen Sparren im Wappen. Die heutige Ausdehnung hat die Gemeinde seit der Gebietsreform von 1972, als sich die Gemeinden Luckenpaint, Sanding, Weillohe und Wolkering mit Thalmassing zusammenschlossen.
