Object history
Deutsch: Das von Heinz Ritt aus Bad Nauheim entworfene Wappen wurde am 13. April 1984 vom hessischen Innenminister genehmigt. 1321 wurden dem Ort Stadtrechte verliehen, die aber keinen Bestand hatten - darauf deutet die Stadtmauer im Wappen hin. Es ist ferner einem Siegel von 1398 entlehnt, welches ebenfalls diese Symbole zeigt. Bei der Figur im Stadttor soll es sich um die hl. Magdalena, Schutzpatronin von Mengerskirchen handeln.
