[edit]DescriptionBrassWivesOfThomasBaynhamMicheldean.jpg |
English: St Michael and All Angels parish church, Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire: monumental brasses of the wives of Thomas Baynham (died 1499/1500): (1) Margaret Hody (left) and (2) Alice Walwyn (right). See Transactions of the Bristol & Gloucestershire Archaeological Society, vol. 6, 1881-2, Maclean, Sir John, The History of the Manors of Dene Magna and Abenhall, and their Lords, pp. 123-165. The brasses were originally in the north aisle but were moved to the present painted wooden panel in the 19th century. The brass of Sir Thomas Baynham, which would originally have been the central figure, was lost before the 19th century. (BGAS, vol.6, p.131, note 3) |
