Description
English: Miniature 9 (hand a), the crossing of the Red Sea, on two registers: at the top, Moses leads the Israelites through the desert whose personification (ἔρημος) is represented on the left below that of the night (νύξ); below, the Red Sea closes in on the Pharaoh and his army, the personified Abyss (βυθός) seizing the Pharaoh in front of the allegory of the Red Sea (ἐρυθρὰ θαλαση [!]).
