The Wikimedia Foundation Brand Studio has received community feedback off-wiki that this Arabic phrase can be offensive/traumatizing to North African women. We are removing it from the Wikipedia 20 pages and we wish to remove it from Commons as well.--Selsharbaty (WMF) (talk) 13:38, 4 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, as a Moroccan woman, I endorse this request. Actually, this word is mostly related to street harrassement. Thank you. -- Nassima Chahboun (talk) 17:29, 4 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Ziko: Thanks for your comment. The art creators here have been following our ask to provide illustrations that represent various cultures from around the world. Upon checking the final product and sharing it with the community, we started to hear the feedback that you can see here from native speakers. --Selsharbaty (WMF) (talk) 12:56, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  •  DeleteIn the Egyptian dialect this word in some contexts is used by street harassers to grab the attention of their victim. As an Egyptian woman, I never respond to anyone using this word as I am 100% sure what will come next from sexual or verbal harassment. However, kudos to the greats designs & very cool & vibrant colors! --May Hachem93 (talk) 09:08, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Delete Per WMF official request (wondering isn't this CSD#G9 "Office action"?). --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 00:56, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
