No FoP for sculptures in the US. 84.62.215.188 18:35, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see what the Fraternal Order of Police has to do with images but none of the other images used at United Nations Art Collection (how can I link to an article in the EN WP?) appears to have any sort of sign off from the FOP. Dismas (talk) 20:32, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

“FoP” is an abbreviation for “freedom of panorama”. --84.62.200.247 09:33, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted. FoP=Freedom of Panorama refers to the fact that in many countries, including the United States, an image of a sculpture is a Derivative Work of the sculptor's copyright and therefore may not be published until the sculpture itself goes into the public domain. Sculpture that is located in countries that have Freedom of Panorama, Germany, for example, are not a problem. This is the reason that all the examples we have of the work of Alexander Calder, an American sculptor, are from outside the United States.      Jim . . . .
