Oscar in 2D animation, as seen in Sesame Street: The Nutcracker.
Oscar the Grouch is a character on the PBS television series Sesame Street. He is a furry, green Grouch who lives in a trash can on Sesame Street. As a Grouch, his mission in life is to be as miserable and grouchy as possible, and pass that feeling on to everyone else. He does not take kindly to visitors and complains that he wants to be left alone, but when he is left entirely to himself, he's dissatisfied, as there isn't anybody around to irritate or complain to.

- A Muppet Family Christmas - This 1987 crossover special finds Oscar and his Sesame Street costars joining the cast of The Muppet Show at Fozzie Bear's mother's farmhouse for Christmas. Of course, being a Grouch, he naturally refuses to sing along in the gang's caroling medleys. The only upside for Oscar that Christmas was that Rizzo the Rat got to be his bunkmate.
