For my card I used the new twig die en cut it from green cardstock.
I then diecut a circle from a cardpanel, offset to the right.
Traced the opening onto the cardbase and applied Distress inks Evergreen bough and Tumbled glass inks. Then splattered the scene and twig with white Ecoline ink (100)
I stamped the sentiment from Marianne Design/ Karin Joan with Versafine Onyx black ink.
Mounted the panel with foamtape. Adhered the twig with glue and mounted the panel on top.
Added the glittery enamel dots, also new from Marianne Design PL4515/

Distress inks: Evergreen bough and Tumbled glass

Shake it up- Designer creative challenge
For my
shaker card I started with the circle, diecutting it from a panel, I thought it might look like the squirrel is in her tree and the circle is the entrance to her nest...
I then stamped the sentiment from Say it big with Versafine onyx black ink. Traced the opening onto the cardbase and swiped Distress oxide Tumbled glass on the cardbase. One of my favorite new colors.
I then stamped the sentiment from Say it big with Versafine onyx black ink. Traced the opening onto the cardbase and swiped Distress oxide Tumbled glass on the cardbase. One of my favorite new colors.
Then I
lined the back of the panel with double sided tape and added the acetate and a
layer of foamtape to make my shaker
pouch.
I cut up
another bit of acetate and adhered my tree to it.
I
colored my images with alcohol markers. I chose a handful of sequins in the
colors of the leaves, making it look the leaves are falling when you shake the
card. In hindsight
I prob should have colored the white on the tree the same or alike blue color as the Oxide background...too late now though.
I prob should have colored the white on the tree the same or alike blue color as the Oxide background...too late now though.
As the
colors are very autumnal I chose “Thank you” as my sentiment, as Thanksgiving
is coming up fast. Adherd the second layer of acetate with the tree to close
the shaker pouch. Then added more double sided tape to adhere the whole thing
to the cardbase.
Added
the squirrel with even more double sided tape.
I only
used one layer of foamtape, so it does shake but not freely, I did this on
purpose because otherwise the card gets very thick and heavy, but the choice is
up to you, of course.
My top tip for shaker cards is to use a bit of card or acetate to close your shakerpouch, before you try to flip the whole things with loose sequins, or beads.

I hope your birthday is a-moose-ing
I like punny sentiments, and usually corny ones, they make me smile, a play on words is just funny, so a-moosing, instead of amazing or amusing, because of the moose...hehe..see I need to laugh...
For my
card I used the CDD Fall border dies for the treeline.
To make
it fall colored I inkblended Distress inks in various Autumnal colors in a
random pattern. Then diecut it. I also diecut the grass from Outdoor landscapes
2 but from green card.
The
digi Tribal moose I printed on alcohol marker paper and
colored him with alcohol markers, then cut him out.
For the
sky I applied Distress oxide Mermaid Lagoon onto the cardbase.
The sentiment
I made in Photoshop and printed it on the cardpanel, then I cut the cardpanel into three strips to make the opening.
Mounted
the the grass to the lower panel with liquid glue, then attached the trees with
liquid glue to the cardbase, trimmed it to size. Mounted the lover and upper
strips with foamtape and adhered them to the cardbase, then mounted the moose
with foamtape in the middle and liquid glue where he meets the panels.

Let's Not Squawble. Craftin Desert Diva Designer Creative challenge: obsessed with Distress Oxides
For this card I used the adorable
Squirrel digi from Craftin Desert Divas. I printed the digi onto
markerpaper and colored her with my
alcohol markers, then cut her out.
I made
the sentiment in Photoshop and printed it on a sturdy cardpanel. I then diecut
a circle from the panel and traced it onto the cardbase.
I inkblended Distress
oxides on the cardbase:Peacock feathers and cracked pistachio, one of my favorite combos; I jsut love how they blend.
The
birchtrees are from the Outdoor
landscape 2 dieset from CDD and.
I
mounted the panel with foamtape and adhered the little squaw with both foam and

(Christmas) tealight box- Kerst waxine doosje
Today I'm showing you how to make this tealight giftbox (again). It's been 2.5 years since I shared it first.
And well I keep making them for every occasion, not just Christmas, but think of wedding favors, teachers gift, party favor , baby shower, just change the apper and colors of scented tealights. I chose Mulled wine today, it's red for Christmas and so is the smell.
For the box you need a piece of cardstock measuring : 5"7/8 x 4"7/8.
On the long side, score at: 5/8 from each edge.
On the short side, score at: 5/8, 2"1/8, 2"3/4 and 4"1/4.
Then cut/notch and glue as indicated on the pattern. Add a thumbnotch if you like.I used a circle punch for this.
To decorate the box this time I used a black glittery tag, a red card stag and the word Christmas out of silver glitter card.
For this I used these materials:
Marianne Design/Karin Joan Giftwrapping Col1442
Marianne Design/Karin Joan Christmas song KJ1719
Marianne Design Pretty paper block PK9149
The glitter card is from Crafter's Companion, and is nice and sturdy.
Marianne Design/Karin Joan Giftwrapping Col1442
Marianne Design/Karin Joan Christmas song KJ1719
Marianne Design Pretty paper block PK9149
Het glitter karton is van Crafter's Companion, en is een mooie dikke kwaliteit.
Ik heb er een video van in het Engels

Craftin Desert Divas Tribal Lion
For my card I made a sunset scene.
I used the Tribal Lion, printed him out on alcohol marker paper, colored him with alcohol markers, then cut him out with my plotter. Same with the mountains from Tribal outdoor set.
I stamped the sentiment from Animal Antics with Versafine onyx black ink on a cardpanel, then cut a strip from it for my scene. I measured the height of my mountains so I could fit them in.
For the sunset I inkblended Distress oxides on the cardbase. Mounted the strips with foamtape and adhered the mountains with liquid glue, the lion has foamtape under his head and tail, liquid glue on the part that sits flush with the white strip.
Remember that if you become a digi club member you can choose any digi image at 50% off, you pay $7 and shop for $14 dollars and you get a free image every month in the email with the discount code..I mean that's just a super deal, and I have placed many digis on my wishlist :-D

Make a wish
The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, is: sprinkles and splatters.
And boy did I splatter hehe, on the background I first inkblended Versamagic colors, didn't like them, too cold/grey so I went over them with some Oxides, in a more vibrant range, but they mixed of course. so : Versamagics: Apsen Mist, Agean blue and Midnight sky and Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled glass Oxides.
Then I splattered it with water, Dyslusion White linen, Distress Spray Stain Brushed pewter and Mermaid lagoon, heat setting in between.
For the images I used C.C Designs Pearl set and I stamped them with Simon Says Stamp Intense black ink and colored them with Spectrum Noir and Illustrator markers.
The sentiment is from C.C. Design also, the Star set and I stamped it with Versafine onyx black ink on a kraft cardstock panel. I then cut out the middle of the panel to fit my underwater scene, I thought the Kraft would look like sand, maybe...
Adhered the Kraft with foamtape and the inkblended panel with liquid glue, then adhered everything to the cardbase.
The little fish, I know, is upside down, but I liked it more facing each other, than it swimming away from the mermaid.

Framed Snowflakes
The Less Is More Challenge, is a sketch.
Had to think about it a bit, so I'm kinda late(r) to the party..:-D
Anyway the challenge runs for two weeks, so there's plenty of time if you'd like to join in too.
At first I wanted to do something like a long image, like a giraffe or tree stretching across the two frames, but then I saw there's a similar entry already.
For my card I pulled out a square die. measured the middle and the upper line, then diecut it twice.
I then stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx black ink so I knew exactly how wide that middle gap needed to be and diecut the lower two windows.
The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Presents and ornaments.
I traced the windows onto the cardbase and inkblended Distress Oxides on it:
And Versamagic Pretty Petunia, but if you have Shaded Lilac Oxide it would match.
Mounted the panel with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.
Diecut the Snowflakes (Craft Emotions) from the same cardstock, mounted a wee bit of foamtap in the middle of each snowflake.

AAA Cards Challenge #122: use a stencil
This fortnight the AAA Cards Challenge is: use a stencil and it was DT member Melissa's choice.
Our sponsor is Stamplorations.
For my card I used a Tim Holtz Stencil (TSH037) and I went for greens and teals as this stencil reminds me of a tire track, so I thought manly card.
I used Distress inks Peacock feathers and Mowed lawn and mini inkblending tools to apply the inks through the stencil. I started with Cracked pistachio, but I changed it to Mowed lawn as it's more vibrant.
The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted (Brushed Greetings II) and I used Versafine onyx black ink.
A few matching enamel dots for some shine
and dimension, no rhinestones,no glitter for this one ;-)..Oh my Nuvo shimmer pens feels ignored lol.
For more information, more DT examples and or to play along the AAA Cards Challenge, see this.

Craftin Desert Divas blog hop day 2
Hello and welcome to
the August release blog hop day 2.
For my card I used the
Tribal Fox digi.
I printed it on marker
paper and colored it with alcohol markers, then cut it out.
For the colors I used
the same as on all the tribal cards, to keep them as a set if that makes sense,
tie them all in with each other.
For the background I
cut squares from a panel and traced the openings onto the cardbase.
Then I applied
Distress Oxides, masking the other openings where needed. I wanted a color blocking look, with contrasting blocks.
I added the panels
with window with liquis glue and mounted the little critter with foamtape and
adhered him to the card.
I don’t have many
Oxides yet and I tried to match them as
best as I could with my critter.
I have not added a
sentiment (yet) I couldn’t think of any funny of cheesy fox puns, except for so
foxy…and yeah I don’t send out cards like that haha.

Tribal Lion 18-266
For this card I used the new Tribal lion, printed him out and colored him with
alcohol markers. Then cut him out.
I
stamped the sentiment from Animal Antics with Versafine Onyx black ink on the
cardbase.
Then
I masked off stripes and inkblended the
same(ish) colors as on the lion on the cardbase.
I also
used the little paw print from Animal antics and Nuvo drops as an embellishment
I love
how smooth Oxides blend and also the matt effect it gives. I mix them with
Versamagic ink as I have all their colors and only some oxides, but for this
card I stuck of the oxides.

Partial foiling - gedeeltelijk foilen met video
Today I foilet only part of a diecut.
to do this I applied Heidi Swapp reactive mist on the lover half of the diecut with a mangy old brush and a really dry brush too, so I would get the strokes.
Let it dry overnight.
Then covered the diecuts with Deco Foil Pewter and passed it through my laminator.
I used Oxide inks to make the colored strip and or to color the letters.
for my "snow" I used Distress sprays and let it dry.
I then changed my mind and decided the vilage would look nicer, and as I didn't at first my strip wasn't wide enough in spots.
For the sentiment i used the Karin Joan set KJ1719.
Mounted the village with foamtape and adhered it to the card

Tribal Moose- 18268
Today I
am sharing a cute card with the Tribal Moose digi and elements from the Tribal Outdoor set (teepee) and the Camping
outdoor set: log, fire and fireflies/
I
printed all images on Alcohol marker friendly paper, cut them out and colored them with alcohol
markers. I tried to keep all my tribal critter elements, such as stripes, dots,
feathers and such the same colors, so it is all a cohesive collection, might I
want to put them in a cardset.
For the
backdrop I inkblended Distress Oxides and I stuck my images to that, either with liquid glue or with foamtape.
Added Nuvo Morning dew on the bugs to make them shiny.

Craftin Desert Divas: camping scene
For
today’s card I used the Craftin Desert Divas Camping outdoor set (fire, signs,
sausage stick, firefly), The Tribal outdoor set (mountains and caravan) and the Tribal
lion.
I
printed all my images on alcohol marker paper, cut them out and then colored
them with alcohol markers. As with the
others I kept to the same palette, I only changed up the fur colors. But to
make it all tie in with each other and to keep the color palette to a minimum,
all the element colors are repeated. I added orange for the caravan.
For the
background I used Distress Oxides (Mermaid lagoon and Cracked pistachio) I
applied the most blue behind the
mountains, fading out toward the top.
I kept
the background solid (no splatters and such)
as the scene deserves all the attention and there’s lots going on.
I
adhered all the elements with either liquid glue or a bit of foamtape for
dimension.
I made a
slit in the lions arm so I could tuck in the stick, but in hindsight I could
just have cut it on an angle…oh well you live and learn
I
attached a firefly onto the lion’s nose as he’s smiling in such a way, it looked
like one needed to be there. Then I added Nuvo drops morning dew on the bug to
make it shiny.

Video Collab #6 with Gerry's Craftroom and a giveaway, with video
For video collab #6 we've chosen the theme : Geometrics.
And I made two cards and two videos, because we've decided to do a giveaway and I prefer this one, so another video and blogpost is going live at the same time.
For this card I used the Simon Says Stamp Grid stencil and I inked a rainbow of Distress inks through it.
For this I used:
Candied apple, Spiced marmalade, Mustard seed, Mowed lawn, Mermaid lagoon, Faded Jeans and Seedless preserves with mini inkblending tools.
After i applied all the inks I made my own glitter paste with the Ranger texture paste, transparent glossy and glitter powder. But it you have ready made glitter paste..please go ahead with those. I like making my own, but the smell of that texture paste...not so much...I let it dry in another room.
I applied it randomly, I kind of like the distressed look and little gatherings in the corner, like snow in a window, and so it;s not glittery all over.
For my sentiment I diecut the Simon Says Stamp Big Hello from Crafter's Companion glitter paper and I punched 3 stars. This card was inspired by another i made with a beehive stencil and butterfly punches.
Now for the giveaway: please comment on both videos, you have a week. then we will pick the winners and leave it in the comment section underneath our videos. You then have a week to claim your prize.

Tim Holtz Wildflowers
The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, is: Distress it, showcasing Tim Holtz products.
The Male Romm challenge is : birthday/
For my card I diecut a circle from a panel and then used the circle bit to diecut the flower (Tim Holtz/Sizzix 661190 Wildflowers dies). I traced the opening onto the cardbase, masked off the edges and inkblended, Distress Oxides : Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Tumbled glass.
Stamped the sentiment from SSS it's your birthday 3x4 with Versafine onyx black ink.
Mounted the panel with foamtape and the flower too, adhered it to the card.
There is a die that makes a similar cut, I think it's Memory box (probably) and that
was the inspiration for the card.

Craftin Desert Diva Canoe scene
For my
little outdoor canoe scene, I used lots of Craftin Dersert Diva digi stamp
sets:
Camping
outdoor set for the signs
Tribal
outdoor set for the mountains, Totem and Canoe
Tribal
moose set for the moose.
I
printed them all on Alcohol marker friendly paper and cut them out, then
colored them with alcohol markers
For the
backdrop I inkblended Distress Oxides : Blueprint Sketch, Cracked pistachio and
mermaid lagoon, masking off the edges to make a lake and a grass bit and sky, I wanted to keep the background
calm, but still give definition. I think there’s a lot going on the card,
without adding texture, like
water droplets or splatter on the solid background.
water droplets or splatter on the solid background.
I kept
to the same colors on the images for all my August cards, to make a coherent set,
also to keep the palette small as more colors make it even more busy.
For the
mountains I did add a line at the bottom, to make it easier for my plotter to
cut it out, you don’t need to do this, if you cut by hand, or make one layer
cards of course.
I
adhered all elements with liquid glue and or foamtape for dimension. I did also
color a paddle and wanted to add it in the background as if the Moose lost it,
but I decided against it.
