Ziryan Serhati-Hadid (Arabic: زيريان سرهاتي Øديد), also known as Scorch, is an Operator of the SpecGru faction featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.
Biography[]
Ziryan "Scorch" Serhati-Hadid was born into a poor Urzikstani family that lost everything during the Russian occupation to bombs and raiding. One day his parents left to scavenge for food and never returned - he never found out what had happened to them. Ziryan joined the Urzikstan Liberation Force (ULF) when he was of age to fight against the country's oppressors and put his skills to use.
Though Ziryan was a skilled soldier, his efforts in fighting Russia was not enough to provide for his own survival. Having heard of his skills, Victor Zakhaev approached him with an offer to join Terminus Outcomes in exchange for promotion and wealth. Putting his needs over his national pride, Ziryan abandoned the ULF, and was part of the initial strike team that led to the creation of the Zaravan Exclusion Zone in Urzikstan.
After seeing the horror wrought upon his hometown by Zakhaev, and realizing that he had been a part of that destructive force, Ziryan defected. He sought out opportunities to strike back, and was brought onto Operation Deadbolt, a CIA contingency plan to counter and contain the undead outbreak in Zaravan. Though he retains his mercenary mindset, Ziryan is no longer willing to sell his services to men like Zakhaev and tries to undo some of the harm he did in his youth.
