Germany (German: Deutschland), officially known as the Federal Republic of Germany (German: Bundesrepublik Deutschland) is a country in central Europe with its capital being Berlin. During the Cold War, the country was divided into two different states : West Germany in the West part who was member of the NATO and East Germany (German Democratic Republic) (German: Deutsche Demokratische Republik) in the East part who was member of the Warsaw Pact. Germany does not have a major role in any Call of Duty game except for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, however some maps in a few games are located in Germany. The German flag is also seen in Call of Duty: Heroes as a decorative item.

Multiplayer[]

The multiplayer map Berlin Wall is located in Berlin near the checkpoint Charlie between both sides of the Wall.

The multiplayer map Munich was also planned for Call of Duty: Black Ops which would have been set in Germany, but it was scrapped and later released as Stadium, which is set in America.

Zombies[]

The Zombies map Kino der Toten sets in West Germany, in an abandoned nazi theater.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3[]

Campaign[]

Germany was invaded by Ultranationalist Russia in 2016. They first attacked the American Air Base of Ramstein, and then invaded the cities of Hamburg and Berlin. The American forces attacked the occupied city of Hamburg in the level Goalpost to free the Vice President of the United States who was held hostage, and Berlin in the level Scorched Earth to try to capture and protect Alena Vorshevsky, the daughter of the Russian president Boris Vorshevsky. Both of the cities were severely damaged during the invasion and the different attacks. This is the first time when Germans appear as allies in the Call of Duty series, as the Bundeswehr forces attack the Russian invaders and assist the United States forces.

Multiplayer[]

The multiplayer map Arkaden is located in Berlin, Germany.

Special Ops[]

The levels Little Bros, Invisible Threat are located in Berlin, Germany and the level Iron Clad is located in Hamburg, Germany.

The Survival Mode map Arkaden takes place in Berlin, Germany.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III[]

Germany was one of the few remaining states of the European Union after its collapse from 2020 to 2025. It would remain a member after the initiation of the Russian Federation as an integral member, becoming one of the founding nations of the Common Defense Pact. It would however leave in 2036, defecting to the Winslow Accord.

Erwin Kloos of SATO Retribution is a technician who works alongside Cpt. Reyes , he is one of the few survivors of the Retribution. The German flag can be seen on the shoulders of many coast guard members.^{[source needed]}

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War[]

Campaign[]

The German city of Berlin is featured in the Campaign mission Brick in the Wall being set primarily in East Berlin, near the Berlin Wall. Different German forces can be encountered in this level : the West German BND intelligence agency with the spy Greta Keller as a friendly faction and the East Germans Stasi intelligence agency with the ex-spy Franz Kraus alongside Volkspolizei Law Enforcement and National People's Army forces as enemies factions.

Multiplayer[]

The Multiplayer maps U-Bahn and Checkmate are located in East Germany and the map Garrison in West Germany. The BND and the HVA are the two German opposed factions of these maps.

The operator Ingo Beck is a member of the Diensteinheit IX, a tactical unit of the East German Volkspolizei.
