Another near-term initiative for Activision Blizzard Studios will be the development of a robust cinematic universe based on the Call of Duty franchise. Activision Blizzard Studios envisions a series of Call of Duty feature films as well as the possibility of television adaptations.

In 2015, Activision announced the creation of a cinematic universe based on the Call of Duty franchise with a first film projected to be released in 2018 or 2019 and directed by Stefano Sollima.[1]. In 2018, it was announced a sequel was already planned with the script of which will be written by Joe Robert Cole.[2]

On February 14th, 2020, Stefano Sollima stated during an interview that the "Call of Duty movies were no longer a priority for Activision".[3]
