8720 9V Motor Set is a TECHNIC set released in 1990. It included 57 pieces, and cost $35.99 (US). It was part of the introduction of the 9V standard to TECHNIC, replacing the earlier 4.5V standard.

It includes a battery box for six AA-cells, a 9 volt motor, electric cables, electric plates, rubber belts and some basic TECHNIC parts.

It is the successor to 8700 Power Pack, and it can also be used as an expansion for 8094 TECHNIC Control Center

This set is referred in instruction manuals of other LEGO sets as an optional expansion to make these model move under electric power. Such as:
