Fang[]
Fang met Mashiro during his investigation on the recent murders. He saved her from cat zoanthropes and at the same time both discovered that each of them was a zoanthrope. Mashiro was strangely attracted to him since she saw Fang in her dream before meeting him in real life so she choose to follow him in his quest for the talismans. They become close friends and developed a love interest for each other as proved in Mashiro's jealousy when Fang gets acquainted with a new girl. Their love was never confirmed by the characters.

Trivia[]
- Mashiro was originally going to be more intelligent than Fang and would have worn glasses and had a more stern demeanor. Her current characterization is the result of Shonen Jump wanting her to appeal to a wider demographic.[1]
