Smurik 「スムリク Sumuriku」 is a Spirit Guardian of the Heart Kingdom.[1][2]
Appearance[]
Smurik is a tall, lean man with shaggy, grey hair and a ponytail. He also has a small mustache and goatee.
Personality[]
Smurik is a harmonic and spiritual soul. He does not seem to be in a rush or get worked up. He also seems to enjoy playing the leaf whistle.[2]
Biography[]
Smurik is assigned to train Finral Roulacase after the Clover and Heart Kingdoms form an alliance against the Spade Kingdom. In a mountainous area of the Heart Kingdom, Smurik finishes a song on his leaf whistle and explains to Finral that all the winds from around the Kingdom pass through the valley in front of them. Smurik admits he had been hoping to train Yuno who was chosen by Sylph. Smurik creates wind swords all around Finral and says that it is his move. Finral opens a portal to escape, but finds even more wind swords after he exits the portal. Smurik states that Finral believes Spatial Magic is only good for support and that he needs to develop his skills in direct combat.[2]
Vanica's Dark Disciples defeat four Spirit Guardians.
Six months after the Spirit Guardians train some Magic Knights, Vanica Zogratis and five Dark Disciples attack the Heart Kingdom, and Smurik is defeated by Svenkin Gatard. Shortly after, Luck Voltia, whom Lolopechka sent to assist the Spirit Guardian, arrives and fights Svenkin.[3]
Several days later, Smurik and others travel to the Spade Kingdom's capital in order to help stop the Qliphoth Advent Ritual.[4] They use True Magic attacks to decimate the horde of low-ranked devils.[5] The Spirit Guardians (except Gadjah) remain at the front gate and continue fighting the endless hordes of devils.[6]
Mereoleona Vermillion joins the Spirit Guardians after she destroys the demon.[7] Shortly after, however, the second gate of the underworld opens and all of the devils' bodies are merged into a giant monstrous form for Lucifero. The Spirit Guardians and the Resistance members are then pinned to ground by Gravity Magic.[8] When one of Lucifero's tentacles threatens to crush the mages pinned down, Mereoleona and Fuegoleon Vermillion then combine their magic to stop it.[9]
After Asta and Liebe bisect the monster and destroy the Ritual, everyone is freed from the gravity.[10] When half of the monster begins falling toward where the Spirit Guardians and the Resistance members are, Yuno Grinberryall destroys the section, saving them.[11] Lucifero then compresses the monster's remains into a body, through which he manifests in a half-complete form. He forces the humans to prostrate themselves before him.[12]

- Wind Magic: Smurik uses this magic attribute to generate and manipulate wind.[1] He can utilize wind streams to lift and propel himself through the air.[6]
- True Wind Magic: Smurik uses the Heart Kingdom's magic technique and natural mana to generate and manipulate real wind.[13]
Abilities[]
- Immense Magic Power: As a Spirit Guardian and a Stage Zero-ranked mage,[14] Smurik possesses an immense amount of magic power and by borrowing the natural mana from the environment, he can perform extremely powerful spells.[15]
- Mana Method: Smurik uses the country's unique magic technique to increase the size and power of his Wind Magic spells.[15]
