SimoonSimoon is a pair of fan-like weapons in Bayonetta 3. Bound to the Infernal Demon Malphas, the blades are said to be fashioned from the feathers of newborn Malphas demons themselves and allow Bayonetta to unleash a flurry of bladed strikes. It is accompanied by talon blades attached to the user's heels.

Simoon is treated as an entire weapon set equipped to both hands and feet and cannot be mixed with other weapons.

In-Game Description[]

A pair of fans that were crafted solely from the feathers of fledglings of the Infernal Demon Malphas.

Lighter than paper yet more durable than steel, the fans are used to slash enemies with twin arcs of feathers.

They are capable of delivering powerful attacks on par with direct attacks from Malphas' own wings.

When these weapons are used in tandem with Demon Masquerade, the user merges with Malphas, sprouting wings and becoming capable of flight.

Design[]

Simoon are a pair of big decorated combat fans. They have a structure made from engraved gold with blue, teal, red and green gemstones and dyes, there's the symbol of the Umbra made from red and green gemstones near the hinge joint, dangling from the bottom of the weapon there's a golden charm with a teal gemstone. When opened Simmons reveals beautiful red feathers that have blue barbs and purple spots on them. The fans can open in two ways, the main one that resembles a Tessen type of war fan and is mostly used for melee attacks and the other resembles a Gunbai type of war fan and is mostly used when delivering long ranged attacks using Simoon.

To compliment the fans, talon-like blades attach to the user's heels, they are red blades with gold detail and resemble Malphas' own talons, while the parts that wrap around the shoes that the person is using follow the same colour scheme as the fan, being made from gold encrusted with jewels. When equipped, instead of butterflies, Bayonetta's steps and jumps generate black feathers at her feet.

How to obtain[]

Simoon and Malphas are automatically obtained after completing Chapter 9.

Unique Traits[]

If I may... Dance in the bladed caress of the wind! ― Bayonetta executing Simoon's Masquerade Rage
Malphas Masquerade

Bayonetta's Demon Masquerade form when using Simoon

Simoon is a fast-moving bladed weapon. Its high speed makes it useful against big enemies like Floccus that don't stagger easily. However, it's attacks outside of combo finishers don't cover a lot of area making crowd control difficult. It's damage output is also below average(but the charge modifier can help make up for it).

Charge Modifier: Holding downPunchorKick causes Bayonetta/Jeanne to charge up for an extra strike after the first which creates a green storm. Holding the button for even longer makes the storm green and red, further increasing it's power. Proper use of Dodge Offset is key when using Simoon's charge modifier.

Pressing Shoot will have Bayonetta create blades of wind to attack enemies from a distance.

In traversal terms, Simoon's Masquerade allows Bayonetta fly for much longer distances than Colour My World, as well as assuming the form when using techniques such as Umbran Spear. However, it has poor control over its air speed, making it unreliable for precise aerial maneuvers.
