Jordan Towers was the Lord of Harrenhal and the head of House Towers during the reign of King Maegor I Targaryen.[1]
History
Ser Walton Towers, a household knight of the king, was granted Harrenhal by King Maegor I Targaryen in 44 AC after winning a melee in Lord Harroway's Town, but Walton died a fortnight later from his wounds. Harrenhal thus passed to Jordan, Walton's eldest son. The Harrenhal holdings that passed to Jordan were much diminished as the holdings of House Harroway were granted to Lord Alton Butterwell and Lord Darnold Darry.[2][3]
Over the course of the king's wars, Lord Towers remained staunchly loyal to Maegor, though his elder sons all died fighting in the king's wars.[1] In 48 AC, Prince Jaehaerys pressed his claim to the throne against his uncle Maegor, and high lords of the realm flocked to his cause. Maegor commanded a score of lesser lords, including Lord Towers, to gather at King's Landing, but their numbers were few and many soon lost heart. Shortly afterwards, Maegor was found dead upon the Iron Throne; Lords Towers and Rosby were the last to see the king alive.[2]
Along with Lords Darklyn and Staunton, Jordan was the only one of Maegor's supporters to have the courage to yield the Red Keep to Prince Jaehaerys and sisters, Princess Rhaena and Princess Alysanne Targaryen. The three lords were sent to the black cells in chains, but were eventually pardoned by King Jaehaerys I after surrendering certain lands and sending a son to court to serve as a hostage.[4]
Jordan eventually died of a chest congestion in 53 AC. Harrenhal passed to Jordan's last surviving son, the sickly and impoverished Maegor Towers.[1]
