"Aang, this is war. There's going to be losses. There's going to be pain. None of that is your fault." |
— Sokka to Aang.[1] |
Sokka is a warrior in the Southern Water Tribe, and the temporary leader of the small village of Wolf Cove. The son of Hakoda and Kya, after he and his younger sister, Katara, discover Aang trapped in an iceberg, they decide to accompany him on his journey across the world.[2][4]
Personality[]
The most prominent trait of Sokka's personality is his sarcastic sense of humour and wit. His personality contrasts greatly with his sister, having a pragmatic outlook on life and focusing on protecting his family and community, compared to Katara's more optimistic and hopeful personality. Though he outwardly projects confidence and takes on the responsibility of leading the village seriously, internally he has doubts about his own abilities. Nonetheless, he joins with Katara in accompanying Aang on his journey, despite having never travelled outside his home before.[2][4]
