This article is about Four Shadows Guan. For the Earth Empire commander, see Guan.

Guan, also known as "Four Shadows", was a member of the Autumn Bloom Society.

History[]

Guan was the champion of the lei tai duels held at the fighting platform of Hujiang, where he brutally defeated several opponents. When facing Rangi, however, he was overwhelmed and his leg was completely broken.[2]

When Hujiang was abandoned following a shirshu attack, Guan had been left behind in a tavern due to his broken leg. His leg had been wrapped in cloth and splinted up to his hip, with jars of food left in arms' reach until he could recover.

Some days later, Guan was found by Jianzhu, who asked him if he had seen a tall girl accompanied by a firebender. Guan recognized Jianzhu as a man of the law, and refused to answer his questions. In an attempt to play on Guan's emotions, Jianzhu began to reminisce about tracking down another daofei group, the Band of the Scorpion, in his youth. Guan's derision for the group's purported small size let the Earth Sage know that the Autumn Bloom Society was much larger.

Jianzhu continued the story, detailing that the group carried their sworn brothers with foot rot through the desert, and noted that he did not see the same tradition and honor in Guan being abandoned by his brothers. Guan spat in Jianzhu's face, angrily rebuffing his claim, before realizing that he was being manipulated. He clenched his jaw and slammed back against his makeshift bedrest, while Jianzhu rolled up his sleeves. Once the Earth Sage exited the tavern, he claimed to have only found "a corpse".[1]
