Volt (ヴォル�� Voruto?) and Summon: Lightning (降霊召符・雷 Koureishoufu: Kaminari?, "Spirit Summoning Seal: Lightning") are artes that summon the Spirit of Lightning, Volt.
Arte Description and History[]
As the arte summoning the Spirit of Lightning, all of the artes are lightning-related. Volt first appears in Tales of Phantasia under the command of Claus F. Lester. When summoned, Volt appears in the middle of the screen and then proceeds to rain down lightning. The rest of Volt's incarnations will perform similar attacks, though in Tales of Eternia, Volt will follow it up by leaving miniature balls of lightning to continue dealing damage as they bounce along the bottom of the screen, while with Summon: Lightning in Tales of Symphonia, Volt will heal the party's status ailments.
In Tales of the Rays, Volt becomes the master arte to Claus's Volt Shard, replacing that arte at the fifth or later action in a chain, whereas Koureishoufu: Kaminari is Sheena's overray mirrage arte. Sheena raises a card in her right hand into the air, instantly charged with Volt's power as he appears behind her. She then uses said power to dart right through the target as a bolt of lightning, launching them into the air. Sheena quickly turns around and repeats seven times, before spiking the enemy back to the ground with an electrified right roundhouse kick. Airborne, she throws cards in a circle around the enemy before using Volt's power to envelop the area in a storm of lightning.
