"Your armor... You're controlling it remotely.
I built this armor, just like I built my own speed.
"
—The Flash and Red Death[src]

The Red Death suit is a high-tech protective suit worn by Ryan Wilder as the Red Death. The suit was likened to the Batsuit by Cecile Horton due to the bat-symbol on its chest.

History[]

In an attempt to replicate The Flash's powers, Ryan Wilder created the suit to generate artificial speed, allowing her to move as fast as him.[1]

Capabilities[]

Functions[]

  • Identity concealment: Wilder uses a demonic red mask to hide her true identity during her criminal activities.
  • Voice-modulation: The suit adds a filter over Wilder's voice, deepening and distorting her voice to non-human levels.
  • Remote-controlled via telepathic link: When out of the suit, Wilder can control it with her mind, allowing it to speak and move from a distance without her having to speak or move herself. While torturing Barry, Ryan used the remote-control function on her suit to communicate with him while speaking with Iris across the city.
  • Artificial Speed Force generation: Ryan created the suit to generate its own artificial Speed Force rather than host the power herself. Combined with the its remote control function, the suit is capable of being summoned at super speed. For example, when Wilder summoned the suit to her after Iris figured out she wasn’t the real Ryan Wilder, it ran to her at super speed.
    • Speed Force disruption: Along with creating its own artificial speed, the suit has the ability to temporarily dampen the positive Speed Force in any natural speedster.[2]

Trivia[]

  • The suit is similar to of Savitar's armor, in that it covers the person inside completely and modulates their voice. It's also multiple pieced in assembly and remote controlled as well for when the user isn't present inside the suit.
  • The artificial speed force is likely generated via the illuminated chest plate. When Batwoman fired a Batarang at it, Red Death lost her speed. She also became powerless when the Flash removed it entirely.
