Heavy is a bulky robot created by Dr. Eggman who, with his partner Bomb, apparently abandoned his master to work with the Chaotix.
History[]
Heavy and Bomb were Robotnik's mechanics, but supposedly defected from the Badnik Horde in order to assist Knuckles and the Chaotix in their operations against Dr. Eggman. Whatever Heavy and Bomb's true intentions were, Knuckles and his allies-which also included Mighty the Armadillo-succeeded in defeating Eggman's forces. (VG: KC)

Heavy is thought to have defected from Eggman's forces due to opposing the doctor's will, indicating sentience and a sense of right and wrong.
