The VINs are a species featured in the video game Cars: Race-O-Rama. They started off as normal cars and students in Chick Hicks Racing Academy before having themselves roboticized to have a fighting chance against Lightning McQueen on track.

They were voiced by Stuart Scott Bullock, who voiced Bubba in the same game.

History[]

After Lightning McQueen defeated Candice in Santa Carburera, other Chick Hicks' students let the company MotorCo. turn them into robotic racecars, which were called "VINs". The process was done by the students entering a MotorCo. factory in Autovia and exiting it altered beyond recognition. In spite of their modifications, they were unable to defeat Lightning and were beaten alongside their master in the final race. Unlike Candice, El Machismo and Stinger, who weren't turned into robots, VINs don't make amends with Lightning after their defeat, even after Chick Hicks reveals that he was only using them all along. It's unknown what happened to them after the events of Cars: Race-O-Rama, as they haven't appeared or been mentioned ever since.

Physiology[]

All VINs share one completely identical design, that of a white stock racecar with a barcode both on the roofs and sidedoors of their bodies.

Behaviour[]

VINs show few, if any, emotions, speaking in a monotone voice and using phrases such as "unsupported hypothesis" to express their thoughts. However, they share their past lives' determination to win the race. Due to being robots, they are much better at predicitng opponents' actions and counteracting.

Trivia[]

  • According to a piece of concept art, VINs were originally meant to look like Chick Hicks and have numbers.
  • The VINs' barcode is the same as the one for the Cars DVD.
