You wouldn't expect it, but...Blathers knows a lot about fish!
― Drift, City Folk

Drift (ドク, Doku?, Doc) is a jock frog villager in the Animal Crossing series. He appeared as an islander in Animal Forest+ and Animal Crossing. Like all other frog villagers, he never uses an umbrella during rainy days. He will talk about how the rain feels slick against his skin.

He has the fitness hobby.

Appearance[]

Drift GC

Drift in Animal Crossing

Drift is a frog with red, yellow, and brownish gray colored markings all over his body and face. The spots under his eyes also mimic the face paint typically used by athletes. He resembles a poison dart frog. In Animal Forest+ and Animal Crossing, he wears the Blue Aloha Shirt, like the other male islanders, and the No. 67 Shirt in New Leaf. His appearance is similar to that of Sly, an alligator.

Personality

Below is a brief description of the jock personality. For more information, click here.

Drift has a jock personality and has a great interest in sports and bodybuilding. Jock villagers are hyperactive and motivated, but often come across as self-centered and dense. As a jock villager, Drift is very interested in his hobby, and may compete against the player at catching bugs and fish. Jock villagers get along with peppy, cranky, and sisterly villagers, but conflict with the laid-back lifestyle of lazy villagers. Snooty villagers may also be difficult to get along with for Drift.

House[]

Drift has a western-themed house. He has no music playing in it and has a red gyroid called a Mini Drilloid. He has a watering trough, a wagon, some broken posts, and other old western-themed furniture. He has the Western Vista as his wallpaper and Western Desert as his floor. If he obtains a stereo, it plays the song K.K. Country.

In New Leaf, Drift's house has a jungle theme. He owns many items from the Green series, such as the bed, the counter, the bench, the desk, and the table. On top of his Green Table is a lantern. He owns a Retro TV, which is next to his Green Counter, a Mini Drilloid, and two plants: a Bromeliaceae and a Rubber Tree. He does not initially own a stereo, but if he obtains one, it will play K.K. Country.

In New Horizons, Drift's house has many items from the Ironwood set, including the workbench, bed, low table, and dresser. He has a wall-mounted tool board on his wall, next to his iron shelf from the Iron set. He also has a fan palm and a succulent plant, and a throwback skull radio on his dresser. In the center of his room he has a DJ's turntable, which he plays K.K. Metal on.

Drift was added to Pocket Camp in the November 24, 2019 update.

Drift's preferred theme is hip, and he primarily gives wood as a reward. His profile reads:

Trivia[]

  • As Drift is an islander in the original Animal Crossing, Drift has a favorite fruit and a fruit that he is allergic to. Drift loves Oranges and is allergic to Apples. Feeding him the fruit Drift is allergic to will reduce the likelihood of his dropping money bags.
  • Drift is based off the frog known as a ranitomeya reticulata frog, that shares the same color pattern.
  • In New Horizons, Drift's preferred styles are Active/Simple, and his preferred colors are Orange/Red.
  • His birthday was the day of the Nintendo Live Tokyo livestream, where DJ KK performed. He wasn't one of the featured villagers to be shown dancing onstage, though.
