Astrotrain

Astrotrain is the main source of transport in Angry Birds Transformers.

Appearance[]

Astrotrain is only seen in alternate modes, transforming into both a space shuttle and steam locomotive. The locomotive mode has a hatch on the back for characters to load/unload. On the wings of his shuttle mode, there is a Deceptihog insignia imprinted on it, but earlier in the game they were drawn over with a smiley face. Occasionally, Astrotrain would wear seasonal costumes, like reindeer antlers for Christmas, or a witch hat for Halloween. In Energon Lockdown's cutscene, he has a pair of spindly legs.

Overview[]

Astrotrain drops off a character at the start of an event and then picks them up at the end. Astrotrain follows behind out of sight, ready to drop off and recall buddies, and brings them back if they happen to fail.

The interior of Astrotrain is essentially the base of operations and barracks for the Autobirds or Deceptihogs, as upgrading, recharging, customizing the characters, and claiming Mission prizes all takes place inside Astrotrain.

Trivia[]

While Astrotrain has a robot mode in most Transformers media, he only shows up in train and shuttle mode. In Energon Lockdown's cutscene, Astrotrain had time to play soccer, go grocery shopping, and iron some shorts while Lockdown was battling against the Eggbot Army.
His role as main transportation for the playable characters was first seen in the Generation 1 cartoon, where Astrotrain served a similar role as transportation for the Decepticons.
