The City of Lost Children (ロスト・チルドレン) is the seventh episode of Akudama Drive.

Synopsis

After a long journey, the team finally reaches their destination. Before the children say their goodbyes, Brother shares his side of the story.

History

Following the Brawler's death, the Hoodlum returns to the others Akudama and together, they learn of the children's origins. Originally test subjects that were sacrified, the two survivors wanted to escape to the moon. With their job completed, the children grant the Akudama their money but the Doctor betrays them and reveals their location to the Execution Division.

• The title of the episode, The City of Lost Children, along with its themes, are a reference to its namesake, The City of Lost Children (French: La Cité des enfants perdus), directed by Marc Caro and Jean-Pierre Jeunet.
  • In the episode, Brother tells the story of himself and a group of children, who were experimented on and used to create a better being. Similarly, in The City of Lost Children, children are kidnapped to be used to give a superior being the ability to dream.
