In June 1962 the Scientific and Technical Committee of Rocket
Forces was activated, followed by the Office of Chief Engineer RVSN in November
1962.
In July 1964 the 1st Volsk Artillery Technical School was
detached from the RVSN, and the Kiev Artillery Technical School was disbanded
1.9.65.
In 10.64 the Central Management of Space Facilities (TSUKOS) is
activated under the RVSN.
19.9.65 three more schools were detached form the RVSN (Kamyshin,
Kazan and Saratov Artillery Technical Schools).
In 1966 the Aviation Division of the Main Staff RVSN was
activated.
In January 1967 the alternate Control Center became operational
(ZTSKP RVSN).
On 1.12.68 the Office of Chief Engineer RVSN became the General
Directorate of Missile Operations.
In March 1970 the Central Management of Space Facilities
(TSUKOS) is renamed General Directorate for Space Vehicles (GUKOS).
The Khabarovsk Artillery Technical School was disbanded in 1971.
The Central Command Post becomes operational with a new system
of automated management in 1972.
In 11.74 the 12th Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defence (12th GUMO)
is detached from the RVSN, and comes directly under the Ministry of Defence -
replaced by a new 6th Directorate in the RVSN.
