Classic proficiency, formerly known as Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert, and Artisan, is the beginning stage of a profession learned at the appropriate profession trainer when a character has reached at least level 5. Not counting racial or other bonuses, it allows skill ups to a maximum of 300 points.
Profession proficiency levels fall into nine groups to learn and execute recipes organized by expansion: Classic, Outland (), Northrend (
), Cataclysm (
), Pandaria (
), Draenor (
), Legion (
), Battle for Azeroth (
) and Shadowlands (
).
